Hunter told Cook Islands News yesterday, that winning the race was an incredible feeling.
“I’ve put a lot of time and effort into my running, so to see it all come together on home soil and cross the finish line in first place was a really special moment.”
Hunter said he was proud to represent the Cook Islands and to have been able to compete alongside many great runners.
“I dedicate this achievement to my family and friends who have supported me throughout my running journey. Their encouragement has meant so much to me, and it made crossing that finish line even more special.
“I’m also grateful to everyone who came out to support and cheer along the course. Seeing and hearing everyone was such a huge motivation.
“I’m really proud to have been able to run for the Cook Islands and hopefully inspire more people here to get out there and give running a go,” Hunter added.
