The matches in Auckland were being played at Cornwall Cricket Club and the other participating teams included an Auckland Maori team and a Northern Districts Maori team.

Apart from the Cook Islands, next month’s World Cup Qualifier will feature eight other teams including hosts Japan, Samoa, Fiji, Vanuatu, PNG, Philippines, Indonesia and South Korea.

The format is three groups of three teams each with the top two teams from each group moving into a super six stage. Cook Islands have PNG and South Korea in their group.
