Malawi’s mothers are set for a day to remember, with event organiser Jai Banda — better known as “Mr Entertainer” — confirming that the much-anticipated Amayi Asangalare Concert will go ahead on Thursday, 15 October, at Nkhopola Leisure Centre.

Billed as a Mother’s Day celebration like no other, the concert promises a full day of live music, entertainment, dancing and laughter, running from 8am right through to 6pm, as organisers Entertainers Promotion look to give Malawi’s women a day dedicated entirely to them.

And the lineup is stacked. Revellers can expect performances from Doc. Namadingo, Miracle Chinga, Ndirande Anglican Voices and Makasu Band, promising a genre-spanning day of entertainment set against the Nkhopola Leisure Centre’s scenic backdrop.Tickets are going for MK20,000 in advance, with door entry priced slightly higher at MK25,000, and organisers are urging fans to move fast and grab theirs early.

Confirming the event, Banda said the concert was designed as a heartfelt tribute to the women who give so much of themselves, love, sacrifice and endless support, to their families all year round.

“This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women who give us love, sacrifice and endless support. We want people to bring their mothers, bring their families, and let’s make this celebration unforgettable,” said Banda.

The concert is presented by Entertainers Promotion, with support from Sunbird and Leisure Centre.
