The Miss World 2026 World Designer Award segment took place on August 27 (Vietnam date), with Henry-Anguna wearing a gown inspired by the turquoise waters of Manihiki Atoll and the Cook Islands’ renowned black pearls.

The gown features a sculpted corset and fishtail silhouette, embellished with hand-sewn black pearls and iridescent mother-of-pearl shell pieces designed to reflect the light and movement of the ocean.

The design was created by Annie Wigmore, Miss Cook Islands 1998, adding another layer of Cook Islands history to Henry-Anguna’s appearance.

Henry-Anguna said there was something special about wearing a piece created by a woman who had previously stood in her position, representing the Cook Islands on the world stage.

“From Miss Cook Islands 1998 to Miss Cook Islands 2026, this felt like carrying a little piece of our history with me,” she said.

The gown celebrates the Cook Islands’ marine heritage and natural beauty, particularly its connection to the ocean and black pearls.

Recently on her Miss World journey, Henry-Anguna took part in the Miss World closed-door interviews at voco Scenia Bay Nha Trang on August 30 (Vietnam date).

The interviews gave the judges an opportunity to learn more about each national ambassador, including her journey, personality and purpose.

After weeks of challenges, performances and experiences throughout the competition, Henry-Anguna described the interview as a chance to step away from the stage and simply have a conversation with the judges.

“I went in prepared, but most importantly, I went in as myself—to let the judges get to know Tiare, not just Miss Cook Islands,” she said.

She also carried Cook Islands touches into the interview through her styling, with a dress by Tav Pacific, styling by Annie Wigmore Creations, hand-painted flowers by Inangaro Design, a necklace from Mii Maoate, Cook Islands black pearls from Bergman & Sons and an ei katu by Tina and Co.

Before the interview, Henry-Anguna also experienced an evening immersed in Vietnamese culture at Làng nghề Nha Trang Xưa, featuring traditional food, local crafts, music, dance and storytelling.

She said one of her favourite parts of the journey has been sharing Cook Islands culture while learning about the culture and traditions of the people who have welcomed the contestants to Vietnam.

The Miss World 2026 final will take place on September 5 (Vietnam date), marking the culmination of the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World event.
