REHOBOTH – Like watching a narco and drug cartel series, the name Naomi Fisch has become synonymous with drug-related arrests, and often, she has proven to always secure her release on bail.
However, yesterday was not to be, after the 33-year-old alleged drug kingpin was denied bail in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court, less than six months after her release.
She was arrested on Saturday after police allegedly recovered 15 units of suspected crack cocaine and N$5 100 in cash during an undercover operation.
The incident occurred at Block F, Erf 332, around 11h00.
According to the police, the operation, code-named ‘Hit and Run’, was conducted by members of the Hardap Regional Crime Investigation Division.
The suspect was allegedly apprehended while attempting to flush the drugs down a toilet.
Police recovered 15 units of suspected crack cocaine valued at approximately N$1 500, as well as N$5 100 in cash believed to be proceeds of crime.
She faces charges of dealing in dangerous dependence-producing substances, defeating the course of justice and contravening the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
The woman was previously granted bail of N$9 000 by the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on 12 May 2026 in connection with separate drug-related charges. The bail comprised N$5 000 for possession of illicit substances and N$4 000 for obstruction of justice.
Opposing her release, the State cited concerns that Fisch could commit similar offences and interfere with witnesses or investigations and argued that her release would not be in the public interest or serve the administration of justice.
Magistrate Siegfried Geiseb ordered Fisch to remain in custody at the Rehoboth Police Station. The matter was postponed to 26 November 2026 for further investigation.
Fisch’s latest arrest follows a series of arrests and court proceedings dating back to December 2025.
On 19 December 2025, Fisch and four co-accused were arrested after police raided a residence at Erf 126, Block F, Rehoboth. Police allegedly recovered N$154 069 in cash, 200 grams of cannabis and half a mandrax tablet.
The State subsequently sought to freeze Fisch’s and co-accused Steve Schneiders’ bank accounts and other assets, alleging that some of the funds were proceeds of crime.
Following a lengthy bail hearing, Fisch was granted N$10 000 bail on 11 February 2026. The magistrate found that the State had presented a strong case against her but ruled that her release was in the interests of justice.
Her bail conditions included surrendering her passport, remaining within the Rehoboth district, not interfering with witnesses or investigations, and not committing similar offences.
On 18 March, while out on bail, Fisch was re-arrested. Police allegedly recovered six doses of suspected cocaine, 26 units of crack cocaine and N$6 320 in cash during another operation at her residence.
In May, Fisch was granted bail in two separate matters. On 11 May, she was granted N$5 000 bail in a drug-related and money-laundering matter, with conditions including reporting weekly to police and not committing the same or similar offences.
On 12 May, she was granted N$4 000 bail in a separate matter involving allegations of defeating or obstructing the course of justice. The State did not oppose bail, and the court again ordered that she not commit the same or similar offences while on bail.
The September arrest is a new criminal matter, separate from the cases in which Fisch was previously granted bail. She remains in custody pending further investigation.
